We built with SBH last year (have been in for 10months) and are so happy with the whole process. We were able to work with them to achieve exactly what we wanted in a home and for our budget. All the trades who worked on the house were great and did a wonderful job. We continually get asked about our home and will always recommend them.

Well what a journey it's been.From day one everyone at Southern Built Homes have been amazing.It was challenging for me as I was going from a 4x2 to a 2x1 granny flat. They helped me create my forever home and offered advise if I strayed off the path and bought me back into line with my budget.They kept me updated while I was away for 3 months and were very respectful of the fact that it was an existing property and home with lots of animals.The end result is my beautiful home on the farm where I can reflect and enjoy.I can't thank them enough and can honestly recommend that you contactThank you all so much.

100% DO NOT RECOMMEND Southern Built Homes to anyone! We had asked them to design us a home with budget in mind. Took 3 months to get a quote back and it came in almost $200k over budget and they’re still making us pay for the design which is completely useless to us. Just another building company not to trust - they need to be honest and upfront about what they think quotes will come back at so as to not let anyone else down in the future.

We love this business! Our first experience was smoothless resulting in a great extension with an artisan Donnybrook stone fireplace. So we were comfortable entering into another contract to deliver a deluxe bathroom. OMG it certainly has delivered. Thanks guys! ( and we are saving our pennies for another job ) . Thank you

I am leaving a 4 star review as I had an amazing start to my build experience, my build itself it beautiful. But to be left the day before getting the keys with the knowledge that I had to do my stormwater, holes under my slab where water got under, no hole drilled for my washing machine, my rainwater tank not hooked up to actually collect rainwater. And generally the time limit given at the start sounded great to be in at Christmas did not occur till 2 months later.So although the build process was smooth till the end , I was let down. Even after sending more business their way. I would recommend the builders for the quality of build I got but would pass on this info as these things really caused me dramas at the time I did not need them.

Had Julian come out to give us an appraisal on some renovations. Nothing but courteous and friendly whilst here, not complaining about that. He told us it would take a few days to get a quote back to us, all good there, partner and I work so wasn't needed in a massive rush. 1 week later and my partner calls to see if the quote is ready yet. Response was that he was busy and would get it to us within a day or two. About 5 days later, still nothing, rang up again and he was unavailable but the receptionist said she'd follow it up and call back that afternoon (our call was made prior to lunch). That afternoon, nothing. The entire weekend, nothing, Monday, nothing, Tuesday nothing, keep this pattern up for coming up 4 months now and we're over it. No return calls, no apologies. No business for them from us ever! We were waiting for the quote to go ahead on the understanding it wasn't going to be massively over the top, looks like our business isn't good enough for them. Must be great being a business making so much money you can turn your back on not only us, but several other couples and families we know who were looking at renovations and we've done nothing but bag this company. Hopefully you read this, figure out who it is, because I can't imagine you'd be doing this to too many people without going bust and fix your systems. Feel free to get back to us at some point in time to explain yourselves. We believe we're owed that much. Happy to edit this review if any of you man up and apologise, we're still never going to give you business or referrals, but we'll let people know you tried to make right on 4 and a half months of ignorance.

Really happy that we went with Southern Built Homes for our custom off-grid build in Balingup. I spoke to several builders, mostly larger companies, but SBH stood out from the start: the other builders I spoke to were mainly interested in steering us towards a more expensive off-the-plan home. Julian took the time to meet with us and understand what we wanted, which was a small custom design based on passive solar principles. The draftsman Blake took our basic sketch and turned it into a well thought out, beautiful, functional home, while being very patient with our rookie questions and last minute change requests. Julian then worked with us at the quote stage to achieve all the important things within our limited budget. Overall, it felt like quite a rare experience where the builder was genuinely trying to understand our needs and help us achieve them.The build process itself has also been good, especially considering how busy the whole industry is at the moment. We reached practical completion within four months of earthworks. We love our new home, and I feel lucky that we found SBH — the whole team is great to work with, and I don’t think we would have got such a good result for our budget elsewhere.

Our home was completed 12 months ago and we could not be happier. Our build went so smoothly and all the trades did an awesome professional job. We first walked into Julians office with a scrap piece of paper with our floor plan and they delivered an amazing home. We built in Collie and wanted steel frame 2 storey. The whole process from start to finish was an exciting enjoyable experience. Thank you Jess and Southern Built Homes for making our dream come true.

Introductory meeting with Julian was great. SBH have high quality products in their showrooms to complete your house. We didn't need to look any further with a turn around build time understandably pushing out in these busy times.
